Bill Kaulitz

This is a project from my Advanced Design class where we found pictures of famous people (in this case, Bill Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel) and recreated the image from pieces of wallpaper samples. I chose to do a picture of him because his hair defies gravity.

Shape

This is a commission for one of my friends on deviantART, but I thought I might as well reuse it for my homework. Anyways, there are several different types of shapes. In professional artistic terms, I mean. There are Geometric shapes, which are circles, triangles, hexagons, etc. These are shapes uncommon in the natural world. The wolf's iPod is a Geometric shape, a rectangle. Organic shapes are in common in nature, irregular shapes with curves and angles and none exactly like the other. The wolf is an Organic shape. Another two types of shapes are Positive and Negative. Positive basically means the "thing" in a picture, the fruit or person or table, or in this case, the wolf and iPod. Negative space is the space around the "thing." In my picture it's the white area around the wolf.

Oh, and there are two more kinds of shapes. I know, it's a lot. These last two are Static and Dynamic shapes. Static shapes appear to not be moving, like the iPod in this picture. Dynamic shapes are total motion, like if the wolf was running.

Ha! I'm done! And if you read this, hopefully you learned something.
